DIVISIONAL COURT

The 2011 Divisional Court Sittings for the Southwest Region will be held in London in the week commencing Monday, April 11, 2011 and the two weeks commencing Monday, November 21, 2011. These dates have been set by Chief Justice Heather Smith of the Superior Court of Justice.

SUPERIOR COURT OF JUSTICE

Appointment of Judicial Management Judges

Justice Rady has asked me to remind you that motions for the appointment of a judge to provide judicial management pursuant to Rule 37.15 are to be returnable before the local administrative judge, who has been designated by RSJ Ducharme to hear such motions. If the LAJ makes the order requested, he or she advises the RSJ accordingly. The RSJ then assigns the judge who will hear all the motions and provide management. The RSJ’s office maintains a list of those judges assigned and the trial coordinator is made aware of the assignment.

These dates can be obtained by contacting my office and obtaining a date for the hearing of the motion.

2010 Civil Rules Information Sheet - Message from the Trial Coordinator's Office

I am sharing this Information Sheet with you which highlights some of the changes to the new rules.  It is a tool and guide that I created for our office but I thought that you might find it helpful.  You will want to review carefully all of the changes to the civil rules yourselves.

Once the amended "Certificate of Readiness of Special Appointment" is finalized we will send it out to you electronically.  Please feel free to bring copies to Motions Court, filled out with the title of proceedings, etc., with the date left blank until the Special Appointment  is formally scheduled in Motions Court.

Please pay particular attention to the section regarding unconfirmed motions.

There is no transition period for these new rules.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.
