Our Events

The MLA hosts many social and networking events for our members throughout the year.

Socials

Our socials are designed to help members of a specific practice area (e.g. real estate) or members in a specific practice type (e.g. in-house counsel or small firms/sole practitioners) develop their professional networks.

Court House Rocks

Our members are rock stars in and out of the court. Come see bands formed by local lawyers at this musical event! After working hard for their clients, our members put down their briefcases and pick up guitars. What follows? Hours of entertainment from bands formed among talented local musician-lawyers. Music styles vary from rock to pop to country to you-name-it. Proceeds from Court House Rocks go to London Lawyers Feed the Hungry, our local charity dedicated to supporting London’s most vulnerable citizens.

Opening of the Courts

This is an annual event to recognize the importance of the administration of justice to our community and society. The ceremony is attended by community members and representatives, including a police colour guard, representatives from the local Indigenous communities, the Treasurer of the Law Society of Ontario, regional judges, lawyers, paralegals, local police services, community justice partners, faith community leaders, education partners, and local politicians. The event includes addresses from the bench, the MLA, and a keynote speaker. At the conclusion of the ceremony, a Bench & Bar dinner is held for members of the MLA and the judiciary.

Holiday Social

Each year in December, join the MLA for some winter cheer and celebrate the season with colleagues and friends. Reflect on your year of accomplishments, opportunities, resilience, and collaboration together with members. If you stick around long enough, you may even see a few members singing a chorus or two!
